进入5月份，而立留学大部分申请者已经启动文书的写作。在竞争日益激烈的形势下，录取委员会已经不能只靠分数选择来选择理想的申请者。所以就美本申请而言，学校已经增加了更多的文书、并增加了面试环节。今天我们就Common App文书做一个简要概述。

美国本科申请，文书有两部分组成：

1. 主文书，即Common Application Essays. （七选一）

2. 补充文书，即Supplement Essays. （每个学校1-3篇不等）

日前，Common App已经公布2019季文书题目延续2018题目，并统计出了最受欢迎的三个题目：

第三名：Topic 1，所占比重21.4%

第二名：Topic 7，所占比重 22.5%

冠军是：Topic 5，所占比重 23.6%

而立留学整理了2019季申请的文书要求及简要中文翻译，供大家参考！

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

译：一些学生拥有非常有意义的背景、个性/身份、兴趣或天赋，他们认为如果在申请中不提及这些因素，那么这份申请材料便不算完整。如果你正是这样的人，那么请分享你的故事。

2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

译：从挫折中得到的经验教训能帮助我们获得成功。回忆你面对挑战、挫折或者失败的一次经历。它是如何影响你的，以及你从中学到了什么？

3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

译：回顾一次你质疑或挑战某种观念的经历。是什么触发了你的思考呢？结果如何？

4. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

译：描述你已经解决或你愿意去解决的一个问题。既可以是知识方面的挑战，也可以是研究领域里的疑问，或是道德层面遇到的困境。哪个领域都可以，但凡你认为对于你个人而言重要即可。解释这个问题对于你的重要性以及你所实施的或即将实施的用于解决此问题的步骤。

5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

译：讲述让你成长或者让你重新认识自己的的一个成就、事件、或者感悟。

6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

译：描述一个让你流连其中，甚至忘记时间的话题、想法、理念。为什么它吸引你？你想多学习时，会寻求什么/谁的帮助？

7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

译：题目自拟，可以是之前写好的文章，或者任何你自创的选题。
